In collaboration with EPT Design and Dunbar Architecture, Hunt Design is proud of its contribution to the new Visitor Plaza at the LA Arboretum. Marking the 75th anniversary of this historic San Gabriel Valley landmark, the transformative improvements set new standards in the visitor arrival experience, orientation, access for all, and horticultural beauty. The project includes a new arrival plaza with a sculptural entrance sign, a ticketing pavilion, a gift shop, a welcome plaza, and new accessible pathways connecting to the main entrance. The Horticultural Walk of Fame features 10 iconic trees and plants in both living specimen and displayed with artful corten steel bases with colorful interpretive graphics. Celebrating its philanthropic donations, donor names are set in colorful Spanish tiles set in the concrete walkway. This project is the realization of a long-held vision to build an entrance appropriate for the Los Angeles County Arboretum and to enhance these iconic gardens for future generations.
