We try too hard in the US to design temporary signage solutions. Why not just cover it up with a big paper printout or use a dry erase marker? It’s comforting to know that we all have the same problems on either side of the “pond!” Temporary messaging is a difficult design problem to solve. Whether it’s through electronic media or a giant sticky note, travelers are expected to follow a series of inconsistent messages delivered within the maze of deep subway corridors that make up the London Underground.
Maybe Paddington Bear was lost due to a temporary weekend closure on the “Tube!” Not surprising!
