Citywide wayfinding system creating a unique visual identity that distinguishes the Santa Barbara waterfront from the historic downtown district.
Drawing inspiration from its coastal beaches, neighboring communities and the local Spanish architecture, our wayfinding design themes seamlessly integrate with Santa Barbara’s aesthetic. The shape, color, and iconography used throughout the wayfinding system feels at home with the iconic red-tiled roofs and white adobe walls found in the historic core. Moving toward the waterfront, the color palette references the seaside while seamlessly blending in with the historic district. Wayfinding elements including pedestrian walking maps, vehicular panels and parking signs, support an enjoyable experience for residents and visitors alike.
