Explore the Golden Gate National Recreation Area with clear wayfinding, enhanced maps, and informative signage, offering a seamless experience for all visitors.

The Golden Gate National Recreation Area project established comprehensive signage guidelines for this expansive network of parklands, recreational spaces, and historic destinations in San Francisco. The plan included a cohesive wayfinding strategy tailored for both vehicular traffic and pedestrian trails, ensuring smooth navigation across diverse terrains. New mapping systems were introduced, enhancing accessibility and providing visitors with a clear understanding of the parkland’s layout and features. The design also incorporated operational and regulatory signage, maintaining order and safety, while interpretive graphics enriched the visitor experience by sharing the area’s cultural and natural history. This well-rounded approach balanced functionality and education, elevating the overall accessibility and engagement of this beloved national recreation area.
