Visitor Center features include supergraphic murals showcasing stunning photography of the Mojave Desert, the Colorado Plateau, and the Great Basin, backlit shadow boxes highlighting local flora, fauna, and recreational activities, special lighting effects that cycle from dawn to dusk, animating the space, live tortoise, snakes, tarantula and Gila Monster displays, a children’s activity corner with a hands-on video microscope, tactile specimens and an interactive topographic map with a user-friendly touchscreen inviting visitors to explore the region’s five geographic areas with animations highlighting activities, communities, scenic routes, and destinations. At every turn visitors of all ages are encouraged to learn more about Greater Zion and all it has to offer.
