Seamless wayfinding meets hygiene: The New Patient Tower blends themed graphics, donor recognition, and easy-to-clean signage for a 480,000 sq. ft. navigation solution.
The signage system for the patient tower at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles was meticulously designed to enhance navigation and create a welcoming environment for visitors. Integrated directional signage and themed floor level graphics were implemented to help orient patients and families both horizontally across each floor and vertically within the tower. Each floor features unique graphics, providing visual cues to aid in wayfinding. Donor recognition was seamlessly incorporated into the overall signage vocabulary, ensuring a cohesive design throughout the facility. Additionally, all signage materials and structures were selected with cleanliness and durability in mind, designed for easy maintenance to meet the hospital’s stringent sanitation standards, contributing to both functionality and safety in the healthcare setting.
