Collaboration with: National Park Service
Discover the park with ease through a new sign program featuring low-impact directional signs, a user-friendly map, and clear pictograms, coordinated with industry experts and review boards.
The project involves the development of a comprehensive park-wide sign program designed to enhance visitor navigation while maintaining a low environmental impact. Central to this initiative are ‘low-impact’ directional signs strategically placed to guide visitors without disrupting the park’s natural aesthetics. A newly designed, customer-friendly map will improve orientation, complemented by a tactile bronze version to promote accessibility for all visitors, including those with visual impairments. Additionally, a clear pictogram system will represent key park destinations, ensuring easy recognition across diverse audiences. The project emphasizes collaboration with local and Federal agencies, historic preservation experts, and the National Park Service to ensure that the design aligns with environmental standards and respects the park’s historical and cultural significance.
