A complete signage transformation integrates digital displays, map directories, and streamlined wayfinding, enhancing navigation across terminals, parking, and ground transportation for seamless travel.
The design and planning for San Diego International Airport’s signage overhaul focused on creating a cohesive and user-friendly experience across all four terminals. The project encompassed a complete reworking of signage, including map directories, baggage claim area signage, and the seamless integration of digital displays with static message signs. The team developed clear, departure- and arrival-oriented signage, addressing curbside and ground transportation needs. A terminal naming study was conducted to streamline wayfinding, while parking and site signage were carefully coordinated. Directories and design standards ensured consistency throughout, providing intuitive navigation for travelers and elevating the overall functionality and aesthetic of the airport’s environment.
